  • How To Disassemble: 95xx Storm

VIDEO OVERVIEW LOCATED AT BOTTOM OF PAGE

    • “cell phone repair tool” (or plastic credit card if you are in a pinch)
    • Torqx Screwdriver
    • Dental pick (or something to use to disconnect wires inside the device)

    Photobucket

Remove the battery, MicroSD card and SIM Card if applicable

    Photobucket

With your Cell Phone Repair Tool (Or Credit card), gently and carefully pry off the

plastic lens which covers the camera/flash area in the back of the phone.

    Photobucket

Once removed, you will find 2 screws.

    Photobucket

Flip the phone over, and gently/carefully pry off the bottom “antenna cover” of the phone.

Be careful not to damage the keys of the BlackBerry when doing this.

    Photobucket

Once removed, you will see 2 “gold” screws”

    Photobucket

Remove the screws from the top rear of the phone to the left/right of the camera

    Photobucket

Remove the screws located 1/2 way up the back of the device.

Note: you will need to remove the Red/White “DO NOT REMOVE THIS LABEL” label to access the 2nd screw.

    Photobucket

On the front of the device, remove the two gold screws.

    Photobucket

Once all the screws are removed, with your cell phone repair tool (or credit card), work your way around the device with the tool in between the chrome bezel and rear plastic part of the phone.

Once you have made one pass around, starting on the bottom of the side of the BlackBerry which has the VOLUME BUTTONS AND MICROUSB PORT, gently pull the black plastic down and away from the bezel. This will allow it to come loose of the clips which are holding the phone together at this point.

    Photobucket

Once one side is removed, the bezel should come right off, however note that you must remove the antenna in order for it to completely come off

(Hence the reason you removed the bezel from the other side of the device)

    Photobucket

    Remove the antenna

    Photobucket

The bezel will now be free of the device.

    Photobucket

On the rear of the phone, disconnect the “clip” located directly to the left of the MicroUSB port, which will allow for you to remove the screen from the board.

    Photobucket

Remove the screen from the board.

    Photobucket

On the rear of the phone, disconnect the antenna which is located just below the MicroUSB port.

    Photobucket

Remove the final clip which is located just below where you disconnected the antenna.

    Photobucket

The device will be taken apart.

    Photobucket

Note, when re-assembling the device, just do these steps backwards.

Make SURE that when you are screwing the pieces back together, that the gold screws go on the FRONT of the BlackBerry, not on the back. They are longer than the rear screws for a reason.
